UCL Study Abroad Bursaries
The applicationn for the Study Abroad Bursary for 2013/14 is now closed. Students will be notified in May if they have been successful.
UCL wishes to provide study abroad opportunities for an increasing number of students. For this reason a bursary fund, supported by UCL Futures, has been established to provide an additional source of financial support for students who wish to undertake a study abroad placement. In 2012/13, 66 Study Abroad Bursaries were awarded.
UCL Study Abroad Bursaries are open to undergraduates taking a compulsory or optional study abroad placement administered by the Study Abroad Team. They are not available to Medical students undertaking electives.
Bursaries are awarded on the basis of financial need and will usually be restricted to a maximum of £300 for students intending to study in Europe and £500 for students intending to study elsewhere.
All applicants must complete and submit a Study Abroad Bursary application form to the Study Abroad Team. The application form will be available to collect from the Student Centre from 01 March 2013. This will not be made available online. Please make sure that your read through the Study Abroad Bursary Application Guidelines before applying.
The deadline for applications is 4pm on 26 April 2013. These should be handed in in person to the Student Centre.
A Study Abroad Bursary Committee will meet to make decisions on bursary allocation. Applicants will be informed, via email, of the Committee’s decision in respect of their application within four weeks of the application deadline.
Please note that the award of a bursary is conditional upon the successful completion of the Study Abroad Preparation Programme.
Withdrawal of Award
UCL reserves the right to withdraw any offer of a bursary if incorrect information is supplied on the application form.
