Country Information

Bahrain

UCL has long welcomed students from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. In the academic year 2012/13 there are 19 students from Bahrain enrolled on graduate and undergraduate degree programmes at UCL.

Fatima Al Rayes is a first-year BSc Economics student on the Crown Prince's International Scholarship Program from Bahrain.

Fatima writes: UCL calls itself 'London's Global University', and really, a slogan has never been so apt! Being the first university in England to accept women, people of differing creeds and those of varying religions, UCL has a well-established tradition of integration and acceptance; in a lecture hall you can find yourself sat between someone from the other side of the world and a London local, each for whom UCL provides a completely new experience.

Marram Al Sabbagh Profile Pic Maram is a second-year MSci Natural Sciences student on the Crown Prince's International Scholarship Program from Bahrain.

Maram writes:

"UCL is a top university and has an internationally weighted reputation. There is a wide range of courses offered to students and Natural Sciences is a new course that only few universities offer. The academic description of the course and the location of the university in central London have attracted me to come to UCL.
