UCL students in China
In summer 2010 five students from UCL spent three weeks in Shanghai as part of the Study China Programme. Rohini Sarkar (History), Kylie Wong (Biosciences) and Lin Yang (Economics) departed armed with Flipcams and digital cameras to record their experiences. Yanchuan Huang is a third-year PhD Electronics and Electrical Engineering student. He is a recipient of the Santander "1-UCL" Excellence/Endeavour Award. UCL Links with China
UCL has many and varied links with China. For example in December 2003 UCL and Peking University opened the new International Centre for Chinese Heritage and Archaeology.
UCL has strong links with the China Scholarship Council who contribute funding towards the Vinson Chu and Simon Li Scholarships. The UCL Language Centre also has links with the Supreme People's Procurator in China.
Professor Xiao Guo, is UCL's Pro-Provost (China). He advises the President and Provost of UCL on major trends in China’s higher education policy and issues that may affect Sino-UCL relations. He is a contact point for visiting Chinese academics and researchers.
