Kazakhstan

About a third of students at UCL come from outside the UK. In the academic year 2012/13 there are 119 students from Kazakhstan enrolled on graduate and undergraduate degree programmes at UCL.

Partnership with the New University of Astana

On 18 February 2010, UCL signed a partnership agreement with the New University of Astana (NUA), Kazakhstan.

In March 2006 UCL was delighted to sign an agreement with the Center for International Programs (CIP) in Astana to facilitate the admission of Bolashak Scholars. We are pleased to be working so closely with the CIP on this long-term initiative enabling Bolashak Scholars to study at UCL across a broad range of programmes.

Medal for services to Kazakh education awarded

Professor Stefaan Simons (UCL Chemical Engineering), UCL's Special Advisor on Kazakhstan and Director of the UCL Centre for CO2 Technology, has been awarded a medal for services to education in Kazakhstan by the Kazakh Minister of Education & Science, Mr Zhanseit Tuimebayev.
