Scholarships

Nigerian students are eligble to apply for a range of scholarships and awards, and details are available on the Scholarships & Funding website. Awards specifically for Nigerian students include:

Africa Education Trust Bursaries

In March 2007 UCL was delighted to sign an agreement with the Africa Education Trust (AET) to enable students from Africa the opportunity to study full-time undergraduate degrees. Under the scheme two bursaries are available for nominated students who have accepted their places at UCL. UCL-AET Undergraduate International Outreach Bursaries

PTDF-UCL Nigeria Scholarships

UCL part-funds a number of awards in conjunction with the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). These awards are available for PhD and Master's programmes. UCL offers a scholarship worth 10% of the tuition fee to scholars sponsored by PTDF under their standard award programme, with the PTDF covering the remaining fee balance and a stipend.

Applications for these awards should be made directly to the PTDF, following their established procedures. Applicants selected by PTDF, who are also offered a place at UCL, will then automatically qualify for the scholarship.

For further information on the application process, please refer to the PTDF website www.ptdf.gov.ng

The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP)

The CFSP is an international programme under which member governments offer scholarships and fellowships to citizens of other Commonwealth countries. Awards tend to focus on graduate level study and include academic fellowships for faculty members of universities in developing countries. Each country has its own national agency that administers the awards, and the website of the UK agency is here: http://www.cscuk.org.uk.
