Academic Resources
London is one of the most exciting cities to be a student providing unrivalled academic resources including museums, libraries, archives and cultural and professional organisations. The British Library, Senate House Library and the British Museum are just a few of the academic resources available to students living in London, all of which can be found on the doorstep of UCL.
British Library - The Library holds more than 13 million books and 920,000 journals.

Managing your budget

Whenever you are shopping in London remember to take your student card with you and always ask if a student discount is available. This also applies when you go to the cinema, theatre, restaurants or other entertainment venues. Most major museums and galleries in London are free to all however special exhibitions may have a charge where a student discount is available.
Travel
Travel also need not be expensive and discount travel cards are available on most transport services in London including national rail, tube and buses. The Student Oyster photocard entitles students to a 30% discount on travelcards and bus passes valid for 7 days or more. As a student you will also be entitled to a discount on transport or journeys outside London on trains and coaches.
Anyone between the ages of 16 – 25, or any mature students aged 26 and over can obtain a young person's/student railcard that will entitle them to 1/3 off rail travel anywhere in the UK. For further information about this and other discount travel options visit the following link
