Immigration & Visa Information

It is the responsibility of individuals to make sure that they understand and meet the immigration requirements of the United Kingdom (UK).

Information on whether you require a visa to study in the UK, how to apply, guidance notes and application forms are available from the UK Border Agency website. It is important that you read this information carefully and note that it overrides any information given below.

European Economic Area Nationals and Swiss Nationals

If you are a national of a country in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, you can study in the UK without a student visa.

Visa nationals

If you are from one of the countries listed under 'More information'  on the UK Border Agency Information for non-visa nationals webpage, you must not attempt to travel to the UK without a valid visa under any circumstances, whatever your length of stay.

If you are coming to study a programme lasting more than six months then you must apply for a Tier 4 student visa. Please use the UK Border Agency questionnaire to find out if you are required to get a Tier 4 student visa.
