Greek and Latin
The Department of Greek and Latin is one of the leading international centres for graduate study and research on the classical world. There are in total around 30 leading academics at UCL who work on all aspects of the ancient world. Classical languages, literature and philosophy are based in Greek and Latin; colleagues in ancient history, art history and archaeology are based in the Department of History and the Institute of Archaeology, and we work closely to provide a rich interdisciplinary programme. Located at the heart of the capital, we are at the hub of an unrivalled range of resources for the study of the ancient world. The UCL Library possesses excellent holdings of early materials, especially in classics and classical archaeology.
