The UCL Cancer Institute, with its 52 scientific group leaders, 30 clinical scientists, and 50 honorary clinical consultants, is an internationally competitive centre for cancer research. We focus on excellence in training of cancer clinicians and scientists, contributing to the best possible clinical care of patients with cancer. Our strength is the collaboration of researchers who work on fundamental biological mechanisms with those who translate this knowledge into clinical applications.
The Cancer Institute is the nucleus for the UCL Cancer Research UK Centre and the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, with affiliations to a number of teaching hospitals and clinical trial centres. We have excellent facilities, a conference travel fund, an active postgraduate society, mentoring/tutoring schemes and networking/careers events for our students.
