Doctoral training opportunities and studentships

We offer a variety of programmes for you to undertake substantial, in-depth research and make an original contribution to your chosen field.

Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs)

UCL has the largest number of students funded through Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs). These multi-disciplinary centres bring together various areas of expertise and offer unique opportunities and a dynamic environment for PhD student training.

Programmes are funded for four years. The first year includes taught elements for developing research and transferable skills as well as a research element to explore potential PhD-level topics.
