CYP IAPT Management Postgraduate Certificate
The new Postgraduate Certificate in CYP IAPT Management, a Department of Health Initiative, aims to provide managers with the necessary background knowledge and understanding to implement change within their CAMHS service, the practical tools to manage this change effectively and a framework for reflective practice and evaluation of the implementation process.
What will I learn?
This programme provides specialist post-qualification training for CAMHS Service Leads within the CYP IAPT model, following the curriculum specified by the Department of Health. Focusing specifically on CBT for internalising problems (anxiety and depression) and Parent Training for conduct problems, the programme is designed to improve the access and capacity of psychological therapy within CAMHS.

Availability: Full-time 1 year
Students undertake modules to the value of 60 credits. The programme consists of two core modules, each worth 30 credits.
Teaching and Learning
The programme is delivered at the Anna Freud Centre, and is taught by leading practitioners in the field. Teaching is a combination of classes, tutorials, small group workshops, seminars and supervised project work. Assessment is through written assignments, oral assessment and a project report of 5,000-8,000 words.

Entry and application
Normally a minimum of a second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject (e.g. psychology) and/or a registerable professional qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. medicine, psychology, social work) from a UK university or overseas professional qualification of an equivalent standard. Candidates without a degree, but with a minimum of three years professional experience in a CAMHS (or equivalent) setting together with a relevant professional qualification will also be considered.

How to apply
SPECIAL APPLICATION PROCESS.
The closing date for applications is 30 September 2013. The application to the CYP/IAPT course is not an ordinary application process. Partnerships have a preliminary stage where they bid to become part of the London Child IAPT collaborative. Managers, supervisors and therapists are then put forward by these particular partnerships to take part in the course. Therefore, you have to be working within an organisation which is part of an existing Child IAPT collaborative to be considered for this course.

The programme is aimed specifically at experienced service leads who are responsible for implementing the new CYP IAPT programme within their CAMHS service.
