"I chose UCL because it is a leading global university, and UCL’s science laboratory in Surrey, the Mullard Space Science Laboratory (MSSL) has an excellent reputation for space research worldwide. They also have very strong links with industry as MSSL design and build space instruments used to help astronomers and physicists with their research.

I am in my first year studying extragalactic astrophysics. My research involves looking at light from galaxies to understand the ages and chemical composition of the stars within them; to do this I need to disentangle the dust from the stars. From understanding how galaxies form we can understand more how the Universe was formed many billions of years ago. I believe that this is one of the most important challenges we have today."
