Dr Sharon Morris, Co-ordinator of the Doctoral Programme, and a small team of staff meet to consider all applications and shortlist candidates on the basis of their suitability for academic research and the feasibility of their research project and its supervision. Shortlisted applicants are formally considered at interview by the Slade Research and Doctoral Board, which usually includes senior Slade staff and two or three Professors from other UCL departments. The Board meets once in the autumn term and once in the spring term to consider applications.
