English Language Requirement
Students whose education has not been conducted in English must reach a satisfactory level of proficiency in English language before starting their studies at the Slade.
Various English language qualifications are acceptable including
For the MA
— the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an
overall grade of 7.0 and a minimum of 6.0 in each of the subtests or the
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 100 plus
24/30 in the reading and writing subtests and 23/30 in the listening and
speaking subtests.
For the MFA and Graduate Affiliate Study —
the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an
overall grade of 6.5 and a minimum of 6.0 in each of the subtests or the
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) internet-based version
with a score of 94 plus 24/30 in the reading and writing subtests and
23/30 in the listening and speaking subtests.
