UCL Halls of Residence
At UCL the phrase ‘Hall of Residence’ is used to describe catered accommodation. There are three Halls of Residence at UCL, Astor College, Ifor Evans Hall and Ramsay Hall, which provide breakfast and dinner from Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays and six UCL closure days.
Halls have small kitchens on each floor for student use. Students are
responsible for cleaning their own rooms. Bed linen is not provided, but can be purchased. Students with specific dietary
requirements, for whatever reason, are strongly advised to apply for
self-catering accommodation only.
Places are offered for 40 weeks, including Christmas, Easter and the start of the summer vacations. Catering is
provided for 36 weeks. All UCL halls are non-smoking, including student bedrooms.
