Only full-time students registered for a programme of study at UCL are eligible to apply for UCL accommodation. If you are holding an offer of a place to study at UCL and need to make an application for accommodation, please go to the application portal.
Please follow these steps to apply for UCL student accommodation
- Read through the application section which contains important information about eligibility and UCL's terms and conditions.
- Check what accommodation type is right for you. When applying, you will be asked to select the factor most important to you, e.g. proximity to UCL, cost, catering, etc.
- Complete and submit your application via the application portal.
- You will receive confirmation of your application by email. If you do not receive this, your application has not been submitted successfully and you should contact us.
Please complete the online application as soon as
you have accepted an offer of a place on a programme at UCL - do not wait
until May (or June for graduate students) if you can complete it before
What happens next?
Once we've received your application for accommodation, we will send you an email acknowledgement. After this, you won't hear from us again until it's time to make offers of accommodation.
We make our offers as soon as is practicable (after the announcement of A level results in mid-August), so you will hear from us in late August or early September. If we have not been able to offer you accommodation, we will let you know and explain what your next steps should be in order to secure accommodation.
If you receive an offer of accommodation, we will email you with the details and ask you to accept via our online system. You will need to accept the terms and conditions of the offer, and pay a deposit.
Please read the conditions of the offer and respond immediately - if you don't accept the offer online and pay your deposit within three days of the offer email, the offer will be withdrawn.
Please note that all our acknowledgements and offers of accommodation are sent by email, so please do make sure that you have given us the correct address of an account that you check regularly.
