Eligibility criteria for graduate students
UK and other EU students
UCL is unable to offer student accommodation to graduate students with UK/EU fee status. There is a range of other private accommodation options and you may wish to use the University of London Housing Services.
Single international first-year graduate students can apply for accommodation if they are studying for one of the following qualifications:
- full-time Master's programme;
- Postgraduate Diploma;
Since accommodation is limited, preference is given to students who have neither studied nor lived previously in the London area (i.e. within the M25 motorway).
Students meeting the conditions above will receive an offer of accommodation before the start of the session, if:
- they apply for accommodation no later than 30 June of the year of entry;
- they have received and firmly accepted an offer of a place at UCL, conditional or unconditional, by 30 June of the year of entry, and;
- they have not previously lived or studied in the London area (i.e. within the M25).
Couples and families
Due to limited availability, UCL is not able to guarantee accommodation for couples or families. For further information please refer to our guidance on applying for couples and families accommodation.
Accommodation is provided for 50 weeks and 4 days (50.57 weeks). There may be a requirement to move rooms during the summer period. Accommodation cannot be provided beyond mid-September, even if your programme extends beyond this date.
UCL cannot guarantee an accommodation place to graduate entrants who apply after the deadline; please be prepared to find private accommodation. You may wish to use the University of London Housing Services.
