Language and Culture - 2011 Entry

 

An awareness of our multicultural environment, and skill in negotiating this environment, is ever more important as our lives become increasingly global. Fluency in foreign languages and an understanding of cultural issues will put you at a considerable advantage in your life and in your career.

DEGREE PROGRAMMES   ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Language and Culture BA 4 years
A levels:
AAA-ABB to include a foreign language, plus a minimum grade B in German, or grade A in Ancient Greek, French, Latin or Spanish, if these are to be studied as main languages.
 
A pass in a further subject at AS level and GCSE English language at minimum grade B are required for all programmes.
 
IB Diploma:
34-38 points with a score of 16-18 points in three higher level subjects to include German at minimum grade 5, or Ancient Greek, French B, Latin or Spanish B at grade 6 if these are to be studied as main languages.
