Affiliate & Postgraduate Programmes Manager

Lisbeth is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the administration of the department's affiliate and UG programme as well as aspects of the department's PG programmes.

Monica Burgess

Monica Barbone

Global Governance Institute & Research Administrator

Monica is responsible for the administration of the Global Governance Institute (GGI). She provides support in a range of areas including events management, communications, website maintenance and provides PA support to the GGI Deputy Director.  Monica also provides support for research proposals within the Department of Political Science and post award support for grants held by the department. Monica acts as Secretary for the Departmental Research Committee and is responsible for updating both the departmental Research pages and the Research information on the Staff Intranet.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • GGI events and administration
  • GGI website maintenance and updating
  • Budget development for research proposals
  • Post-award support for SPP research grants & contracts
  • DRC minutes and updating of SPP Research webpages.

Helen is responsible for managing the Admissions procedures for prospective students and for the administration of the department's MPhil/PhD programme.

Dimitrios Kraniotis

Assistant to the Departmental Manager and to the Head of the Department / Events and Communications Officer 

Dimitrios is the Assistant to the Departmental Manager, Hannah Umar and to the Head of the Department, Professor David Coen, and he is responsible for a range of areas including events management, marketing and communications, website, estates and quality assurance processes.

Ajay is responsible for the administration of general finance and human resources within the department. Ajay is the first point of contact for advising current staff on matters relating to HR and for budgeting or reporting on non-research accounts within the department.

  • Purchase orders
  • Budgeting and reporting on discretionary accounts

Katerina is the first point of contact for the department and is responsible for managing the reception and ground floor facilities in 29/30 and 31 Tavistock Square.

Katerina also provides administrative support for student matters.

Department Manager

The Department Manager is responsible for managing the provision and efficient delivery of professional services within the department with particular focus on the strategic planning of teaching, staffing, financial management and the delivery of estates and space projects.

The Department Manager is also the Departmental Safety Officer.

Constitution Unit Administrator

Ben is responsible for the administration of the Constitution Unit. Ben provides support in a range of areas including events management, communications, website maintenance, HR and finance and provides PA support to the director of the Constitution Unit.  Ben also supports the department in human resources and in developing research budgets.

  • Budgeting, reporting, forecasting on CU accounts
