Together with the UCL Greek and Latin, and through the generosity of a private donor, the UCL Philosophy organises an annual S.V. Keeling Memorial Lecture in Ancient Philosophy.Most of the first ten lectures have been published in Modern Thinkers and Ancient Thinkers, edited by R. W. Sharples (London: UCL Press, 1993).

Most of the second ten lectures have been published in Perspectives on Greek Philosophy, edited by R. W. Sharples (Aldershot: Ashgate, 2003).

Next Lecture

  • We are delighted to announce that the Keeling memorial lecture and graduate masterclass for 2013/14 is to be given by Professor Gail Fine (Cornell / Oxford) on Wednesday 12th March, 4-6pm, at the Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre. The lecture's title is 'Knowledge, belief, and perception in the Phaedo'. Further details are posted here.
