Professor Helen Beebee
Helen Beebee was a Temporary Lecturer with the department from 1996-97. She is now Professor of Philosophy at the University of Birmingham.

Professor Malcolm Budd
Malcolm Budd retired as Grote Professor in 2001, having joined the department in 1970. He continues his research and writing, dividing his time between Cambridge and France. Aesthetic Essays (OUP, 2008) is his latest book.

Professor Tim Crane
Tim Crane joined the department in 1990 as a Lecturer and became a Reader, Professor and Head of Department before departing in 2009 to become Knightbridge Professor of Philosophy at University of Cambridge.

Professor Tim Crane
After completing his graduate studies in Philosophy here at University College London, Myles Burnyeat taught in the Department from 1964-1978. He left to take up a Lectureship in Classics at Cambridge University and become a Fellow and Lecturer in Philosophy at Robinson College Cambridge. From 1984-1996 he was the Laurence Professor of Ancient Philosophy at Cambridge and he is currently a Senior Research Fellow in Philosophy at All Souls College, Oxford.

Professor James Dybikowski
Jim Dybikowski was a Lecturer in the Department. He is now Professor Emeritus having just retired from the University of British Columbia.

Dr Paul Faulkner
Paul Faulkner was a Temporary Lecturer from 1999-2001. He now has a Lectureship at the University of Sheffield.

Professor W. D. Hart
Bill Hart joined the Department in 1974 and left in 1991 to take up a Professorship at the University of New Mexico before moving on to the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was Chair of the Department for twelve years.

Dr Anthony Hatzimoysis
Anthony Hatzimoysis was a Temporary Lecturer form 1997-98. He now has a Lectureship at the University of Manchester.

Professor Ted Honderich
Ted Honderich retired as Grote Professor in 1998 having joined the Department in 1964. Ted has moved to Frome in Somerset and continues to stir up controversy, especially with his book, After the Terror . In 2001, Ted published his memoirs, Philosopher: A Kind of Life , which contain many memories of the department. He also maintains an extensive philosophical website

Paul Horwich held a Chair in Philosophy from 1994-2001. He left to take up a Professorship at City University of New York.

Professor Hidé Ishiguro
Hidé Ishiguro was a member of the department from 1964 to 1982 and was made Emeritus Reader from 1982. She has recently retired from her Professorship at Keio University, Japan.

Professor Hans Kamp
Hans Kamp was a Lecturer in the Department from 1971-74. He is now a Professor of Formal Logics and Philosophy of Language at the Institut für Maschinelle Sprachverarbeitung, Universität Stuttgart.

Professor Colin McGinn
Colin McGinn left the Department as a Reader in Philosophy in 1985 to take up the Wilde Readership in Mental Philosophy at Oxford University. He then moved to Rutgers University, New Jersey to take up a Professorship. Colin published his memoirs, The Making of a Philosopher: My Journey Through Twentieth-Century Philosophy, in 2002, which contain some rather mixed memories of his time at UCL.

Dr Michael Rosen
Michael Rosen was Lecturer in Philosophy from 1985 - 1990, when he left to take up a Fellowship in Philosophy at Lincoln College Oxford.

Hans Sluga
Hans Sluga was a Lecturer in the Department from 1963-1969. He left to go join the faculty of University of California-Berkeley where he is now Professor of Philosophy.

Dr Jerry Valberg
Jerry Valberg retired as Senior Lecturer in 2001, having joined the department in 1969. Jerry continues to teach graduate students for the department, and to pursue his research in metaphysics and philosophy of mind.

Professor Crispin Wright
Crispin Wright was a Lecturer in the Department from 1970-1971. He is now Professor of Logic and Metaphysics and Wardlaw Professor at the University of St. Andrews, and a regular Visiting Professor at Columbia University, New York.
