Medicines Use and Health
Our research examines ways to translate the potential benefits of
medicines into positive health outcomes by understanding and shaping the
factors that influence their optimal use. Optimal health outcomes are
related to the correct use of medicines which can be compromised by
safety and behavioural issues.
We seek to understand how
individuals and organisations use medicines and then develop
interventions to optimise their safety and efficacy. We use and develop
theories to understand patients’ experiences of medicines, the causes of
harm and the choices made by patients and prescribers.
Our researchers are involved in health policy development and the evaluation of novel pharmacy services and technologies.Â
