Formulation Sciences
Our research activities focus on the sciences and technologies used to develop and understand the final dosage form of medicines. We work on the major routes of administration (e.g. oral, parenteral, pulmonary, mucosal and dermal), and pharmaceutical materials characterisation and processing.
Other activities include the formulation of oligonucleotide and protein based medicines, and multicomponent formulations that need pharmaceutical engineering from the nano- to the micro-scale.
We collaborate extensively with clinical colleagues to accelerate patient-driven development, and several members of the division have patented and commercialised their research.
