What causes anxiety? How does it affect our minds, bodies and relationships? Can we prevent anxiety? How do anxiety treatments work?

Neuroscientists and psychologists working at UCL School of Pharmacy, Dr Jasmina Jovanovic, Dr Sarah Chapman and Dr Audrey Mercer, are organising a free public engagement event on the subject of anxiety and stress-related conditions that will take place on Friday 18th March 2016 at 4pm at the Wellcome Collection London.

"The Age of Anxiety" is timed to coincide with Brain Awareness Week, a global campaign to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research. The aim of this event is to engage clinicians, psychologists, neuroscientists from academia and the pharmaceutical industry and the public in discussion focusing on anxiety disorders, and to communicate the public need for developing new pharmacological and cognitive therapies.

The event, sponsored by the UCL School of Pharmacy and the Society for Neuroscience London Chapter, includes consultation groups and workshops focusing on specific aspects of anxiety disorders, invited lecturers and an open discussion forum.
