e-Learning and Blended Learning
The School makes use of the internet and IT technology in supporting teaching in all its courses. The Moodle VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) program is used extensively for management, communication and posting of support information by all staff.
e-Learning is learning facilitated through the use of information and communication technology. This can involve access to teaching notes via the www, embedding of notes and interaction with other sites or can be independent interactive tutorial material.
The use of technology in teaching by the School does not yet extend to any fully virtual courses. We believe that the best ways of teaching still involve personal interactive contact.
The pages accessible from this menu contain support material for using the Moodle VLE from the point of view of both the student and instructor. There is some demonstration material as example illustration of what may be used on the VLE.
The ECDL is the European Computer Driving Licence for which the School has training material and staff and students are encouraged to make use of this.
There are links to useful application packages for use in developing presentation material.
