Overview of the event:
The first event in the 'Teaching and Learning Exchange' lunchtime series was held recently in the Haldane Room, filled to capacity. The focus of this launch event was on Personal Tutoring, with briefings from various UCL colleagues representing a range of the services that Personal Tutors should find it useful to know about: the Transition Programme, Student Support and Wellbeing, UCL Careers Service, Student Psychological Services. There was also a contribution from Judy Medrington of the Institute of Archaeology, illustrating how good personal tutoring in a department can enhance student accomplishment and satisfaction, ultimately reflected highly in comparative indicators such as the National Student Survey (NSS).
The next 'Teaching & Learning Exchange' event is from 1 - 2 pm on 13 November, "Less Work, Better Assessment: How TESTA can help" with Drs Teresa McConlogue and Jenny Marie. Lunch will be provided. Please register here to confirm numbers for catering.
