The challenge of engaging a diverse range of undergraduate health professional students in interprofessional learning can at times be daunting. Add to this the topic of chronic disease self management (CDSM) and lifestyle rish modification (LRM) generates even greater angst for the educator! This presentation will provide insight into the development and implementation of an on-line learning module with an interactive student forum that was piloted, in the School of Primary Health Care, Monash University, across six disciplines: medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nutrition & dietetics and psychology. Stufflebeam's evaluation framework was adapted to gather data on the process of the project. Student's readiness for inter-professional learning (RIPLS) was measured through pre and post testing. CDSM and LRM was for some health professional students clearly a new way of approaching patient care management and required a shift in their thinking and presented challenges for them. |
