My main research interests include human learning and decision making. I approach these topics with a combination of behavioural experiments and computational modelling. I am also interested in optimal experimental design, in particular to distinguish between formal models of cognition.

My undergraduate degree at the University of Amsterdam was in Psychology. I specialised in psychological methodology and clinical psychology. After a brief period as a researcher at the Free University Amsterdam, I went back to the University of Amsterdam to do a PhD in psychological methodology. After completing my PhD, I went to University College London as a post-doctoral researcher at the ESRC centre for Economic Learning and Social Evolution (ELSE). I have been at UCL since.
