Sarah Maguire

Sarah Maguire has published four highly-acclaimed collections of poetry, most recently The Pomegranates of Kandahar (Chatto, 2007). Selections of her poems have been translated and published in Arabic (Damascus, 2003) and in Malayalam (Kerala, 2010). The founder and director of The Poetry Translation Centre, Sarah is co-translator of the leading Sudanese poet, Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi. She was born and has lived all her life in west London, currently within a stone’s throw of properties she first squatted in 1974 in the ex-slum of Notting Hill.
