National Heart Failure Audit letter responds to beta blocker article in The Times

8 October 2012

A letter from the National Heart Failure Audit, written in response to an article published in The Times, has been published today. The response from the audit cited National Heart Failure Audit mortality analysis on patients admitted to hospital between 2009 and 2012 - a larger patient group than that in the US registry - which shows that in patients with heart failure, the prescription of beta blockers on discharge from hospital has a significant life-prolonging impact.
