The Imperial Bank of China
- Copyright Edward Denison, 2008.
This photograph shows the former Imperial Bank of China building on Ningbo’s Bund (1933–35). Designed by Pan Zhi Qin, it was once the tallest building in Ningbo.
The image is taken from the forthcoming book ‘Modernism in China: Architectural Visions and Revolutions’ by Edward Denison (UCL Bartlett School of Architecture) and Guang Yu Ren, published by John Wiley & Sons. Mr Denison will speak about the book at the China Research Festival at UCL on Friday 13 June.
The China Research Festival is a symposium showcasing the range of research collaborations between UCL and Chinese scholars. To register for a free place, visit the festival website or contact Lisa Migo.
