Earn up to £30: Participants needed for study on pharmaceutical ingredients

Researchers at UCL School of Pharmacy are carrying out a study looking at the taste of four different active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs): isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide and ethambutol.

Participants will be asked to swirl a small amount of solution in your mouth for 5-10 seconds, spit it out and rate the taste on a scale - you will not swallow any of the solutions being tested.

The results of this study will help formulation scientists use the best strategies to develop acceptable tasting medicines. Different taste assessment methods are currently being explored at UCL School of Pharmacy and in order to validate them, human taste panel studies need to be conducted.

If you're a healthy, non-smoking adult aged 18-40 you are eligible to take part in the study.

The study will take place at UCL School of Pharmacy. You will be asked to attend four sessions which will each last 2 hours. You will be paid £7.50 per session as a compensation for your time.

For more information and to register your interest please visit the study website.

This study has been approved by the UCL Research Ethics Committee

Project ID Number: REC 4612/009
