Language

Who is it for?

All participants must be monolingual native speakers of Standard Southern British English (i.e. have grown up in the south of England and have no other language spoken at home). You must also:

  • Have normal hearing
  • Be right handed
  • Be under 35 years of age
  • Not have speech, language or any other neurological impairments

What will it involve?

This study will take two hours. In the speech comprehension task, you will listen to two different voices simultaneously and be required to detect funny sentences. Using an electroencephalogram (EEG), small sensors attached to the scalp will measure your brain activity throughout the task. You will receive £15 for your time.
