UniForum Programme: Data collection

6 July 2017

UCL is participating in the UniForum programme, an international benchmarking exercise run by Cubane Consulting.

Quad Birds eye Over the coming months, we will be repeating the data collection exercise that took place in summer 2015. This will involve collecting activity and cost data about professional, operational, and technical staff, as well as data from suppliers and contractors.

This information will help us understand how we resource the support provided to teaching and research activity and allow us to benchmark ourselves against other universities. There are 18 Russell Group universities taking part in UniForum, including Oxford and Cambridge, and the programme is also running in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

In the next few weeks, some staff will be approached to participate in the data collection exercise. If you are one of these people, I encourage you to provide your full support. A relatively small amount of your time will provide an important contribution to the success of the programme.

The results will be used in combination with those of the Service Effectiveness Surveys that took place in November 2015 and 2016 to provide a full picture of the services that support teaching and research at UCL.

The results will be reported to SMT in early 2018 and available for further analysis in the spring. For more information, please see www.ucl.ac.uk/planning-team/uniforum-programme or contact the project team at uniforum@ucl.ac.uk.
