Graduate Applicant Portal launched

20 October 2011

Graduate applicants to UCL can now track the status of their application online, manage their reference requests, receive their offer electronically and respond to offers using new Applicant functionality on the Portico Portal.

Graduate Applicant Portal launched

Each year we receive close to 30,000 direct applications to UCL for graduate taught and research programmes.  A large number of queries are received from these applicants needing to change their contact details or manage their reference requests.  In addition, applicants contact us regularly to determine whether they should be expecting an offer letter in the post and to confirm that their response to an offer has been received.

The new portal, launched on Monday 10 October, gives applicants the ability to update our systems directly, where this is appropriate, and provides them with immediate and direct access to their application status and offer letter once it is generated.  This improves the service we offer our applicants and should reduce the number of queries received in departments and central admissions.

Staff can find further information about the new portal functionality and appearance by visiting the portal page of the Admissions System Project website.

The Applicant Portal is the latest delivery from the Admissions System Project, a joint project being delivered by Information Services and Registry and Academic Services.  It forms an important step in the move from paper-based to electronic processing of applications by October 2012.  To find out more about the project visit the website.
