2014/15 entry UCL Graduate Prospectus launch

14 November 2013

Following extensive market research, the printed 2014/15 UCL Graduate Prospectus has been redesigned to be a streamlined, high-level overview of UCL's offer.

UCL Graduate Prospectus

Its principal purpose is to articulate the defining characteristics and added value of

UCL graduate study and research. The updated and enhanced online version can be found at: www.ucl.ac.uk/graduate

The printed prospectus acts as a 'gateway' document, signposting more detailed information which is available online. It is more visually enticing, increasing the use of data-led infographics and striking images to communicate UCL's strengths.

Who it is aimed at

The main audience is prospective graduate students, primarily overseas students or those unfamiliar with UCL. A secondary audience is parents of overseas prospective graduate students.

UCL will no longer post printed prospectuses to graduate students. Instead, this printed prospectus is intended to be used as part of wider, coordinated and targeted marketing campaigns:

  • to support activity at International and UK graduate fairs and overseas recruitment trips
  • to support relevant events on campus
  • as a hand out in conjunction with degree programme brochures and other departmental materials.

Cost savings from a reduced pagination and print run have been invested in improving the online prospectus which better serves the needs of the majority of prospective students as it is more comprehensive, immediate, accessible and up to date.

I would like to extend my thanks to all colleagues who contributed to the planning and writing stages of the Prospectus, and to the staff and students who generously consented to being interviewed and photographed to provide the testimonials that appear in its pages.

We will be conducting a review of the redesigned print and web Graduate Prospectus in the near future, so do please send any feedback to our Design and Communications Manager, Rachel Hobbs at r.hobbs@ucl.ac.uk.

Ian Bartlett, Head of Publications and Marketing Services, UCL Communications and Marketing
