UCL Outreach: Summer Challenge 2013 - teaching opportunity for postgraduates and funding opportunity for departmental initiatives

24 October 2012

Summer Challenge is a short academic course for Year 12 students which piloted in 2012 as part of the UCL Horizons programme.

It supports the aims of UCL's Access Agreement.

It is designed to increase the number of high quality applications made to UCL by students from under-represented backgrounds, and to develop their independent research, critical thinking, academic writing and presentation skills. UCL Outreach is currently recruiting UCL postgraduates to be Summer Challenge 2013 tutors, and is also offering an opportunity for academic departments to apply for £1,300 in Outreach funding to run their own Summer Challenge courses.

The deadline for both types of applications is 7 January 2013.
