Changes to tax free childcare

There will be a change to the way childcare vouchers work in the Autumn of 2015.

The Government used the 2013 Budget to announce that a new tax-free childcare scheme would be introduced.

UCL staff that are already in the childcare voucher scheme (provided by KiddiVouchers) or those who join prior to this time will continue to have the entitlement to salary sacrifice for vouchers that they currently hold.

Each scheme can benefit parents depending on their personal circumstances, so we invite you to register for childcare vouchers if you decide that you would be better off in the existing scheme.

You can use this table to establish which option is right for you. Please note that the new childcare scheme will only be for children under the age of 5yrs when it launches however there are plans to extend to children up to the age of 12 eventually. When autumn 2015 arrives you will have the choice to remain in the voucher scheme going forward or switch over to the new Government scheme.
