UCL Careers: Focus on Management - do you want to be a team manager?

30 April 2014

UCL Careers are looking for staff to get involved in their Focus on Management course.

It's a great training course that will allow new or aspiring managers to gain experience and coaching in managing people by being a Team Manager of their own team of UCL students for two days, while being observed by an experienced coach who will give them support and feedback.

The course will take place on 11 June to 12 June 2014 and will be held at the UCL Academy. 100 students take part and receive practical teamwork, commercial awareness and presentation training from a "Team Manager" - a new or aspiring manager. These students work in teams on a range of employers' case studies and each team is led by a Team Manager.

Being a Team Manager is a great way to get hands on experience of different management styles, develop leadership and facilitation skills while helping current students become more employable.

UCL Careers are offering one discounted Team Manager position to a UCL staff member. The cost of the training will be £297.50 + VAT which includes a UCL Staff discount of 50% (usual cost is £595 + VAT).

If you're interested in becoming a Team Manager or would like to know more, contact Vivienne Watson in UCL Careers at v.watson@ucl.ac.uk or call 020 7866 3628.
