Call for Pro Vice Provosts: Going (more) global

24 July 2015

UCL has recently announced its Global Engagement strategy with 6 key objectives.

  • Academic leadership... critical test of a global university
  • A global leader... an inspirational student experience
  • Addressing global challenges
  • Accessible, publicly engaged
  • London's Global University
  • Delivering global impact

Dame Nicole Brewer, Vice Provost International, will be leading on implementation of the strategy and is establishing Vice Dean's International in all Faculties as well as 7 Regional Pro-Vice Provosts

We are delighted that Professor Dame Anne Johnson has been appointed as Vice-Dean International for the Faculty of Population Health Sciences.

Many of you have contributed to UCL's Global Strategy, through your research, teaching and working with policy makers and communities. The Faculty had a major role in developing Global activities at UCL. Anthony Costello and Anne Johnson founded the Institute of Global Health, initially as a multi-disciplinary cross-Faculty initiative and now an established Institute in the Faculty. Professor Nora Groce chairs the Grand Challenge of Global Health

We run very popular BSc and MSc in Global Health and through IGH and elsewhere are building our international links. Throughout the Faculty we attract students and staff from all over the world and we are involved in numerous international collaborations across every continent.

In the autumn we will be reviewing the breadth of our global activities and will work closely with Dame Nicola's office in helping to achieve UCLs global engagement ambitions.

In the meantime senior staff at professorial level are encouraged to consider applying for the exciting roles of Regional pro-Vice Provost, the application deadline for which is midday on 7 September.
