'London for free' film-making competition for UCL staff and students

13 November 2012

UCL has joined the Raindance Film Festival to offer UCL students and staff a unique opportunity to win great prizes and showcase their films on the UCL YouTube channel.

London fo' free

Between 12 November and 6 January they are invited to pick up a camera, laptop or smart phone and produce a film, less than two minutes in length, about London from their perspective.

Judges from UCL and the Raindance Film Festival will award prizes to the videos that most closely relate to the theme 'London for Free'.

UCL is one of the world's leading universities set in one of the world's most vibrant cities. 'London for Free' is a campaign to show people you don't have to spend money to enjoy this great city, and that you can't put a price on some things.

Because not everyone has access to high-end filming equipment, the story and intention are more important than a polished piece of work - whether you have a camcorder or an iPhone, the competition is about getting out there and filming.
