UCLU Women's Rugby win Team of the Year Award

UCLU Women's Rugby has been awarded Team of the Year at the British Universities & Colleges Sports (BUCS) awards.

Women's rugby team This is the second year in a row that the Women's Rugby team has made it to the final selection for Team of the Year, having narrowly missed out on last year's award.

After winning the University of London League and defeating Kings College London at this year's London Varsity match, Captain Eleanor Trezise explained: "Its a fantastic achievement and I can't believe we got the award. It's a great boost before we enter the Premiership next season."

The club's successes this year haven't been limited to the rugby pitch. They also won  an award for the RFC's Young Volunteering Club of the Year - for their hard work with the local community around UCL.

Alexandria Hingley, UCLU Sports and Physical Activity Development Coordinator, said: "UCLU Women's Rugby Team can hold their heads even higher after receiving the national BUCS Team of the Year award at the Annual Awards Evening last Thursday.

The girls have had a tremendous year and this coveted award represents all the hard work, passion and dedication the club has shown not only this year but since its existence.

UCLU is immensely proud of the girls and we are very excited to support them next year as they become the first field sport team to represent UCL in the BUCS National Premier League "
