Vice-Provost appointed to STFC Council

Chair of Council, Professor Michael Sterling, said: "The addition of Professor Price will strengthen the scientific input to Council. His involvement in both the school and higher education sectors will be invaluable as we continue to demonstrate the real economic and societal benefits that STFC's research and training deliver to the UK."

The Council aims to keep the UK at the forefront of international science and tackling some of the most significant challenges facing society such as meeting our future energy needs, monitoring and understanding climate change, and global security.

STFC is one of seven publicly funded Research Councils, and is an independent, non-departmental public body of the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS).
