UCL Volunteering Fair - Thursday 6 October

4 October 2011

UCL has one of the largest departments dedicated to volunteering in the UK and volunteering plays a large part in the student experience.

Volunteering Fair This Thursday sees the UCL Volunteering Fair take place in the South Cloisters.

All students are welcome to attend. There are over 40 different activities on offer, including sports volunteering, health & mental health projects, volunteering with children, environmental campaigning and many other opportunities.

Exhibitors on the day will include FoodCycle, Bloomsbury Festival, Crisis, Royal National Institute of Blind People, Diabetes UK, Refugee Therapy Centre, SANE and London Wildlife Trust and Nightline.

John Braime, Volunteering Manager at UCL Union, explained: 'Every year we see more and more students getting involved in volunteering - both undergraduates and postgraduates. They tell us that volunteering doesn't just help them become more employable, but also that it's helped improve their general wellbeing. For some, volunteering complements their academic subject - for others, it's a chance to do something different.'

UCLU Volunteering Fair is organised by the Volunteering Services Unit, a joint project of UCL and UCL Union. To view the Volunteering Fair catalogue, please visit the link below.
