Travel and examinations disruption: 6 May to 14 June 2011

It has been reported that the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union are planning a series of tube strikes which are likely to coincide with the following examination dates: 17 May: morning session 18 May: afternoon session 19 May: morning session 20 May: afternoon session 14 June: morning session It is possible that the disruption to tube travel will be more extensive than the half days indicated above.

Students revising Nevertheless, it is intended that all examinations scheduled on the days listed above will take place at the times and in the venues indicated on students' individual timetables, and students should make every effort to attend the examination on time.

Students arriving more than 30 minutes after the start time for the examination will be subject to the late arrivals procedure as detailed in the Examination Guide for Candidates (pdf), which means that they will not be permitted entry to the hall but will be directed to their parent or teaching department, as appropriate. Students delayed beyond the expected end time for their examination should still go to their parent or teaching department.

Where there are departmental tests, including oral and practical examinations, scheduled for the affected dates, students should contact the parent and/or teaching departments for further information.

All students are advised to visit the Transport for London website for information about alternative routes and other general travel advice in order to plan their journey in advance.
