  • Khaldoon Ahmed (UCL Anthropology) has visited the Jaipur Literature Festival after receiving the DSC Travel Grant awarded annually by UCL.

Khaldoon, a filmmaker studying at UCL for an MSc in medical anthropology, visited Jaipur to interview writers at the festival for his film project The Trace of Urdu Literature in Contemporary Indian Writing. He took various images of the festival and the city, which he explains in the slideshow below.

The DSC award is an annual travel award of £1000 which supports a UCL student to undertake travel for the purposes of research into any aspect of South Asian literature. The award is made under competitive application to the student of highest merit, as judged by a panel chaired by Professor Michael Worton, UCL Vice-Provost (Academic & International).

The DSC award is generously funded by Mrs Surina Narula.
