UCL Provost reappointed to the ESRC

David Willetts, the Minister for Universities and Science, has reappointed UCL President and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant to membership of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). 

The ESRC is the UK’s largest organisation for funding research on economic and social issues. It supports independent, high quality research which has an impact on business, the public sector and the third sector. At any one time they support over 4,000 researchers and postgraduate students in academic institutions and independent research institutes.  

Professor Grant has been reappointed to the ESRC for a period of two years, from 1 August 2011 to 31 July 2013.
