UCL staff can donate to the charities providing disaster relief in Haiti through the Give As You Earn scheme.

Workplace Giving is a simple, efficient and flexible scheme, which allows employees at UCL who are paid through PAYE to give on a tax-free basis to the charity/ies of their choice.

By having a small deduction made from your monthly salary, your chosen charity will automatically also receive your tax without having to go through the costly administration process to claim it back.

A donation of £10 per month will only cost you £8 if you are a standard rate taxpayer, or £6 if you are a higher rate taxpayer.

All employees can choose how much they want to give and are able to increase or decrease the amount, or stop giving, at any time.

The following charities are amongst those directly engaged in Haiti disaster relief: Merlin, British Red Cross, Oxfam, UNICEF, Save the Children and the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD). They are among the thousands of causes you can support through this scheme.
