Premier of South Australia visits UCL

  • On Friday 12 December UCL welcomed the Hon Mike Rann, MP, Premier of South Australia on a visit to mark the agreement between UCL and the State of South Australia to establish the UCL School of Energy and Resources, Australia in Adelaide.

    Premier Rann met UCL President and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant, Professor Michael Worton, Vice-Provost (Academic and International), Professor Bernard Buxton, Dean of UCL Engineering Sciences and Marco Federighi, Sub-Dean of UCL Engineering Sciences.

    The UCL School of Energy and Resources, Australia will be a collaboration between the university and the State Government. The South Australian energy company Santos will make a contribution to the operation of the school through funds for scholarships and the sponsorship of a professorial Chair.

    Premier Rann said: "UCL's credentials in science, energy and resource management are second to none, complementing South Australia's development of our immense resources in uranium, geothermal hot rocks, copper and other minerals."
