2013 Neuroscience Symposium
21 June 2013, Institute of Education
Registration for the 4th annual UCL Neuroscience Symposium is now open.
The day will begin at 9am and close with a wine reception at 5pm. The programme is in development and speakers will be announced on the UCL Neuroscience domain website in the near future.
The Symposium is open to all researchers (PhD students, postdocs, research associates and Principal Investigators) working on any aspect of neuroscience within UCL or partner NHS organisations (UCLH, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, associated Mental Health Trusts).
A limited number of tickets are available to UCL BSc/MSc students on neuroscience-related
courses.
To confirm authenticity of your registration, please
use your UCL/NHS email address when registering (i.e. do not use
gmail,hotmail etc).
Lab Posters
This year we are keen to see more lab posters presented at the Symposium, as well as project-specific posters.
One of the aims of the Symposium is to encourage greater networking opportunities and the feedback from last year was that the lab posters were very informative.
Lab posters:
- are a useful way of communicating the full range of work and techniques going on in the lab to UCL colleagues, potential collaborators, fellows, post-doctoral researchers and students;
- continue to benefit the lab even after the Symposium, if posted in the lab and displayed to colleagues, visitors and students as an accessible and comprehensive summary of the research interests of the group.
Examples of lab posters from the 2012 UCL Neuroscience Symposium can be viewed below:
ECN Networking Event
Lab posters and project-specific posters will also be
incorporated into an ECN Networking event. This event will allow
post-docs to showcase their research and to foster links with other
researchers across the university.
Early-career neuroscientists and PhD students are invited to stay on for the
wine reception (5-7pm) and to present their lab’s posters or their
project-specific poster during that reception.
